A reflection for today
Storms can make fear feel urgent and isolating. In Matthew 8:23–27, the disciples woke Jesus and begged Him to save them. “You of little faith,” Jesus replied, “why are you so afraid?” (Matthew 8:26, BSB). Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was perfectly calm.
The disciples were left asking what kind of man this was, since even the winds and the sea obeyed Him. Our storms may not end the moment we pray. Christ is still with us, and He is still Lord over them, so we can tell Him honestly what frightens us and ask for help.
When the waters feel high, peace may start small, with remembering who is in the boat with you and praying what is true.

Name one storm you are facing in a short prayer. Then sit quietly for one minute, asking Christ to meet you there with His presence and peace.
