Memorization
Commit Scripture to heart.
What it is
Scripture memorization is storing God's Word in your heart so it is ready in moments of temptation, suffering, and encouragement (Psalm 119:11; Colossians 3:16).
Why God gives it
God uses remembered truth to steady your mind and shape what you love. Memorized Scripture keeps His promises close when you don't have time to go looking for them.
Common distortions
Memorization gets distorted when it becomes trivia, performance, or a way to feel spiritually impressive. It should help you treasure God's Word.

Remember the gospel
You hide Scripture in your heart because God already loves you and has spoken kindly and truthfully to you in Christ.
