Prayer

Prayer is honest speech with God. Because Jesus has opened the way to the Father, you come as a child who doesn't have to earn a hearing (Matthew 6:7-13; Hebrews 4:14-16).

God gives prayer to form honest dependence in you. It trains trust, confession, gratitude, and a steadier heart as you bring ordinary needs to the Father who hears you and the Spirit who helps you pray (Philippians 4:6-7; Romans 8:26-27).

Prayer gets distorted when it becomes performance, vague religious talk, or a way to manage God. It is meant to draw you near to Him.
