Sabbath
Stop. Rest. Delight.
What it is
Sabbath is a weekly rhythm of stopping ordinary work so you can rest, worship, and receive life as gift (Genesis 2:1-3; Hebrews 4:9-11).
Why God gives it
God gives Sabbath to train trust. It reminds you that He is God, you are not, and your worth is not held together by constant output (Exodus 20:8-11; Matthew 11:28-30).
Common distortions
Sabbath gets distorted when it becomes legalism, laziness, or a productivity recharge plan. The heart of it is rest received from God's hand.
How to begin in Bearing Fruit
Set a Sabbath rhythm in Bearing Fruit and protect a real block of time this week. If it helps, pair that block with a study lesson or a Journal note about what keeps pulling you back into work.
Remember the gospel
Jesus has finished the work of your salvation. You do not rest to prove yourself. You rest because Christ has given you a place to stop striving.
