Service

Use your gifts to serve others in love.

What it is

Service is gladly meeting real needs in Jesus' name, whether or not anyone notices (Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 4:10).

Why God gives it

God gives service to train humble love. It pulls you away from self-importance and toward the people around you, forming the kind of life that looks more like Jesus — quietly, over time, in the ordinary things you do for ordinary people.

Common distortions

Service gets distorted when it becomes people-pleasing, burnout, or a hidden attempt to earn approval. Service is not trying to become worthy. It is love flowing outward.

How to begin in Bearing Fruit

Start with Service Ideas and choose one concrete act you can actually do this week. Keep it simple, specific, and quiet.

Remember the gospel

Christ served you first. You do not serve to make God notice you. You serve because His mercy has already moved toward you.
