November 29 to December 24
Advent readings for 2026
Advent means “coming.” For the four weeks before Christmas, the church remembers how God's people waited for the Messiah, and looks ahead to Jesus coming again.
These 26 short readings run from the first Sunday of Advent to Christmas Eve. Each day has a Bible passage, a short reflection, a prayer, and one small thing to do. It takes about five minutes.
Starts Sunday, November 29
The first reading opens on the first Sunday of Advent
A new reading opens each day until Christmas Eve. Sign up, and each one comes to your inbox that morning.
If you miss a day, pick up with today's reading. Skip any practice that doesn't fit your day.
Four weeks, 26 readings
The readings move from the promises in Isaiah and the Psalms to the birth of Jesus in Luke and Matthew. The full list appears here on November 22, the Sunday before Advent.
